DESCRIPTION
FOR LORCET PRODUCTS
Treats pain. Lorcet contains hydrocodone and
acetaminophen. Hydrocodone which is related to
codeine is in a class of prescription drugs called
narcotic analgesics. Lorcet ( Hydrocodone ) relieves
pain. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever
that increases the effects of hydrocodone. Together,
acetaminophen and hydrocodone ( lorcet ) are used to
relieve moderate-to-severe pain. Lorcet may also be
used for purposes other than those listed in this
medication article.

WHEN
YOU SHOULD NOT USE LORCET
You should not use this prescription pain pills if
you have ever had an allergic reaction to
acetaminophen, lorcet, or to hydrocodone.
HOW TO USE AND STORE LORCET
Your doctor will tell you how much lorcet to take
and how often. Keep all medicine out of the reach of
children.
Tablets/Capsules:
Lorcet may be taken with food to lessen stomach
upset.
Drink plenty of fluids to help avoid
constipation.
Store lorcet at room temperature, away from heat and
moisture.
Lorcet Elixir Solution (liquid):
The elixir may be taken with food to lessen stomach
upset.
Carefully measure your elixor dose using a marked
measuring spoon or medicine cup.
Do not freeze lorcet elixir. Store elixor at room
temperature, away from heat and moisture.
If you miss a lorcet dose:
Take the missed lorcet dose as soon as
possible.
Skip the missed dose of lorcet if it is almost time
for your next lorcet dose.
You should not use two doses of lorcet at the same
time.
DRUGS AND FOODS TO AVOID WHILE TAKING LORCET
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other
medicine, including over-the-counter medicines,
vitamins, and herbal products.
Do not drink alcohol with loricet plus.
Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking any
medicines besides loratab that could make you drowsy
such as sedatives, cold and allergy medicine,
sleeping pills, or muscle relaxants.
LORCET WARNINGS
Lorcet can be habit forming. It is possible to
become physically and/or psychologically dependent
on this pain killer medication. You should not use
more than the prescribed amount for pain.
Check with your doctor before taking lorcet pain
pills if you have liver or kidney disease, an
enlarged prostate gland, or trouble urinating.
Tell your doctor if you have had an allergic
reaction to a narcotic drug such as codeine. The
reaction may have included wheezing or trouble
breathing, hives, rash, or swelling in the face.
Codeine can cause an upset stomach, but an upset
stomach is not an allergic reaction.
If you have taken lorcet for several weeks, ask your
doctor before stopping as you may need to take
smaller and smaller amounts of lorcet before
stopping completely.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your
doctor before taking lorcet.
Lorcet Elixir liquid contains alcohol.
Lorcet can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Be
careful if driving a car or using machinery while
taking loratab.
LORCET SIDE EFFECTS
Call your doctor right away if you have any of these
side effects while taking lorcet:
Fast or slow heartbeat
Trouble breathing
Swelling of the face
Hives, skin rash, itching
Hallucinations, changes in behavior
Severe confusion or tiredness
Yellowing of the skin or eyes
If you have problems with these less serious side
effects, tell your doctor.
Drowsiness, dizziness, or weakness
Dry mouth, nausea or vomiting
Constipation
Headache
Blurred vision
